Description	:	Victor J. “Vic” Hushak, of Traer, died Wednesday, June 17, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, Waterloo. He was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Tama County, son of Fred J. and Emma Wacha Hushak. He married Beatrice Halupnick on Sept. 24, 1946, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Traer. Vic graduated from Clutier High School in 1940 and attended Iowa State College. Read More	Victor J. “Vic” Hushak, of Traer, died Wednesday, June 17, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, Waterloo. He was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Tama County, son of Fred J. and Emma Wacha Hushak. He married Beatrice Halupnick on Sept. 24, 1946, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Traer. Vic graduated from Clutier High School in 1940 and attended Iowa State College. He did a lot of custom work, farmed and was an agent for Farmer’s Mutual Insurance and Farm Bureau Insurance. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Clutier, as well as St. Joseph Church, Dysart, and was currently a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Traer. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Clutier American Legion. He was involved in numerous boards and committees such as the North Tama School Board, Clutier Fire Board, the Farmer’s Telephone Co., Dysart Tree Board and was active in the Catholic Order of Foresters. Survived by: his wife, three daughters, Gail (Dwayne) Konicek of Festus, Mo., Lorraine Painter of Mound, Minn., and Marlys (Nick) Rizzi of Ridgefield, Conn.; a son, Mitchell (Lisa) of Ankeny; nine grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; nine great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; two sisters, June Casey and Ann Grimm; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Fred L.; a sister, Pearl Schoenfelder; and a son-in-law, Dave Painter. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Traer, with burial in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, rural Clutier. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today with a 3:45 p.m. rosary. Memorials may be directed to the family.
