Read More	CAMBRIDGE — Victor Perkins “Vic” Polston, 81, of Arapahoe died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Wenburg Funeral Chapel in Arapahoe is in charge of the arrangements. He was born on Jan. 29, 1937, in Walteria, Calif., to James Sylvester and Gertrude (Heman) Polston. Vic attended elementary school in Walteria and high school at Torrance (Calif.) High School. Vic met the love of his life, Shirley Ann Lostlen, in seventh grade. They attended junior high and high school together and were married Nov. 25, 1953, at Community Methodist Church in Walteria. To this union, five children were born: Connie, Vicki, Tom, Linda and Terry. After working as a truck driver in California, Vic and Shirley decided to move to Arapahoe in June 1962. Vic began farming with the help of his mother, Gertrude, and stepfather, Floyd Warner. Milking cows was added to farming and continued until 1975. Vic and Shirley enjoyed many years of trapshooting, traveling, hunting, camping and fishing. Vic won many state and national trapshooting awards, most notably recognition from the American Trapshooting Association for 100,000 targets for Singles and 100,000 targets for Handicap. Vic was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, the Arapahoe Isaac Walton, American Trapshooting Association and the McCook Gun Club. Preceding him in death were his parents, James and Gertrude; stepfather, Floyd Warner; brothers, Floyd Polston and Ed (Mary) Polston; and sisters, Florence (L.B.) Barrett and Leona (Carl) Plunkett. Vic is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Polston; his children, Connie (Greg) Hill and Vicki (Terry) Haussler, all of Arapahoe, Tom (Kathy) Polston of Odessa, Texas, Linda (Russell) Tomky of Plattsmouth and Terry (Laurie) Polston of Arapahoe; grandsons, Josh (Jill) Hill, Dustin (Jessy) Hill, Cody (Shayla) Hill, Trev Haussler, Brody Polston, Brandon Polston and Nathan Stewart; granddaughters, Misty (Brandie) Hill, Tori Haussler, Karissa (Tyler) Mayes, Cayla (Alex) Larkins, Carley Polston and Sydni Tomky; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
