He received his education in the elementary schools of Republic County, Kans., graduated from the Chester High School in 1929, and attended Nebr. Wesleyan University. Read More	Victor Vernon Naysmith, son of William and Melsena Naysmith, was born Sept. 4, 1911 in Republic County, Kansas, and passed away March 14, 1969 at his home. He received his education in the elementary schools of Republic County, Kans., graduated from the Chester High School in 1929, and attended Nebr. Wesleyan University. He was united in marriage to Hazel Lucille Clark on October 29, 1932, and to this union four children were born. They were life-long residents of the Byron - Chester communities. Vernon was a member of the United Methodist Church of Chester, and was active in its life. At the time of his death, he was chairman of the Council of Ministries, member of the Administrative Board, and teacher of the Tri-M Adult Church School Class. He was also treasurer of his township board, and delegate to the Kansas Wheat Growers Association. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Hazel; two sons, Willis and his wife, Nadine, of Camarillo, Calif., and Kenneth and his wife, Nancy, of Byron; two daughters, Norma and her husband, Robert Hayes, of Seabrook, Md., and Alene and her husband, Clifford Rullman, of Landover Hills, Md.; two granddaughters; seven grandsons; four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Bodholdt of Oakland, Calif., Mrs. Avis Strawhun of Yuba City, Calif., Mrs. Velma Fern Bohning of Harrold, So. Dak., and Mrs. Eavon Holmes of Nipoma, Calif; one brother, James, and his wife, Viola, of Chester. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m., at the Chester United Methodist Church with Rev. Marlon Loftis officiating. Rev. Loftis also sang accompanied by Mrs. Dolan Frye at the organ. Pallbearers were Dean Russell, John Young, Elmer Holmes, Elton Scofield, Harry Holmes, Orville Childs. Honorary pallbearers were Lou Artz, Gene Hiatt, Lester Hayes, Jesse Young, Kenneth Adamons, Arnold Tietjen. Interment was in the Chester Cemetery, Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Service in charge.
