The young couple have the best wishes of many friends. ======================== Nemaha County Herald (Auburn, NE), Thursday, December 6, 1945; pg. 7 WILLIAM NAYSMITH William Naysmith was born June 25, 1866 on a farm near Auburn, the place which was homesteaded by his parents, who came here from Scotland. On Jan. 12, 1892, he was married to Melsena Lively, and to this union were born six children, two sons and four daughters. In March of 1892, he and his bride, moved to a farm in northwest Liberty Township in Republic county (sic), Kans. Here he engaged in farming until 1927, when he retired from active farm duties. He moved to Chester, Nebr., where he was residing at the time of his death. Mr. Naysmith passed away Nov. 24, 1945, at Patterson Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Kans., at the age of 79 years, four months, and 30 days. The deceased is survived by his four daughters, Avis Naysmith of Winslow, Ariz.; Gladys Redenbo of Oakland, Calif.; Velma Fern Bohling of Harrold, So. Dak.; and Eavon Holmes of Belleville, Kans.; two sons, J. H. Naysmith and Vernon of Byron, Nebr. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Violet Knipe, and Hugh and John Naysmith, all of Auburn. Hugh and John Naysmith of Auburn, Nebraska. He wife preceded him in death. She passed away two years ago. Mr. Naysmith was a member of the Methodist church. Services were held at the Methodist church in Chester, Nebr., Wednesday, at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. H.D. Keefer, Auburn. Interment was made at Chester. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church and inter death two years ago. ment in Chester Cemetery. (NOTE: typed as written in newspaper) Rev. H.D. Keefer of Auburn was in charge of the services and was assisted by Rev. V.L. Chapman of the locol (sic) Methodist Church.
