Mr. Clark was born July 5, 1920, to parents, Vern and Orpha Clark. He spent his youth on farms in Nebraska and Iowa. He attended the University of Nebraska, Northwestern University and Penn State and was recognized as a top athlete. He married Lois Moir of Akron, Nov. 9, 1942 in Lincoln, Neb. Mr. Clark was born July 5, 1920, to parents, Vern and Orpha Clark. He spent his youth on farms in Nebraska and Iowa. He attended the University of Nebraska, Northwestern University and Penn State and was recognized as a top athlete. He married Lois Moir of Akron, Nov. 9, 1942 in Lincoln, Neb. The couple met while they were students at the University of Nebraska. He was selected for the V-12 program with the Marine Corp, while attending the University of Nebraska. The couple made their home wherever they were stationed. In 1945 Mr. Clark was discharged and they returned to South Dakota (West Akron) to make their home on a farm. Mr. Clark was called to active duty during the Korean conflict in 1950 and served as a tank gunnery instructor at Camp Lejeune, N.C. He was honorably discharged in 1952, with the rank of captain. The family returned to South Dakota and farmed until 1962. The couple were both active in Farm Bureau, Big Sioux River Conservation Association; Foreign Exchange programs, Mason, the Republican party, and served as a county representative to the state legislator and various community activities. The family moved to Tempe, Ariz, in 1962. He worked as an agronomist consultant in Vietnam, South America, Lybia and Saudi Arabia until his retirement in 1978. Survivors include his wife, Lois of Tempe, Ariz.; three daughters, Cassie, Debbie and Vikkie; five grandchildren, Jenny, Tom, Clint, Kirk and Sean; one brother, Cecil and four sisters, Mae, Effie, Edna and Connie.
