Her death occurred at Long Beach, Calif., April 5th and her companion of fifty years, with other members of the family made the long journey to Clay Center with the body, arriving Saturday, where they were met by many relatives. The story of her life is as follows: Victoria Evelene Vinzant was the daughter of William and Wealthy Jane Vinzant, and was born November 28, 1860, in Parke county, Ind. At the age of six years she moved with her parents to Illinois. When she was twelve years old they moved to Kansas, settling in Clay County, Athelstane township. On December 23, 1878 she and Plummer Woolpert were united in marriage. Her sister, Mary, and John C. Moyer were married at the same time. This was the first double wedding in this part of the country. The Reverend McDowell officiated. On December 23, 1928, both Mr. and Mrs. Woolpert and Mr. and Mrs. Moyer celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Most of Mrs. Woolpert's married life was spent on their farm near Topeka, in Shawnee county, but in October 1928, she and Mr. Woolpert moved to Long Beach, Calif., because of her failing health. She resided there until the time of her death on Easter Sunday, April 5. Mrs. Woolpert was a charter member of the Exeter church. She has been a very devout Christian woman since she gave her heart to God at the age of thirteen years. She was a member of the Methodist church in Shawnee county. She has been a patient sufferer for the past few years, only waiting until her maker was ready for the call, "Come Up Higher." She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Plumer Woolpert; seven children: Mrs. Lulu Kisler, Muleshoe, Texas; Ross and Glenn Woolpert, Topeka, Kansas; Earl Woolpert and Mrs. Helen Spurlock, Long Beach, Calif.; Ray Woolpert, Casa Grande, Ariz.; Vinzant Woolpert, Oak Hill, Kansas. A little girl, Zoe Ella, died in infancy. She also leaves nine brothers and sisters; Mrs. Mary Moyer and John Vinzant of Oak Hill, Kansas; Joe and Elmer Vinzant, Porum, Ok.; Mrs. Ettie Shaw, Hoxie, Kansas; Albert Vinzant, Wakefield, Kansas; Harmon Vinzant, Rapid City, South Dakota; Mrs. Mae Thomas, Terre Haute, Ind.; and Lawrence Vinzant, Brawley, Calif., all of whom were present at the funeral.
