She spent her life in Stratford and was one of the first graduates from the Stratford High School ten years ago, having since been teaching in and about the vicinity of Stratford. Read More	Stratford Courier July 13, 1905 Obituary Norton Vina May Norton was born November 8, 1877 at Ridgeport and died at her home in Stratford, July 2, 1905, at the age of 27 years, 7 months and 14 days. She spent her life in Stratford and was one of the first graduates from the Stratford High School ten years ago, having since been teaching in and about the vicinity of Stratford. Several months ago her health began to fail, but she did not seem worse until a few months ago when signs of consumption were noticed. The best of doctors and medial aid was of no avail. After suffering for many months the cold hand of Death finally closed the eyes forever and the soul took its flight to its God. The pain-racked body need suffer no more, for God's way was that she should leave this world of sorrow and trouble and live with the angels evermore. She leaves to mourn her loss, a father, mother, two sisters, Alma and Irene, and four brothers, Harry, Roy, Frankie and Roland, one brother having preceded her to that better land nine years ago. Vina was of a loving disposition and leaves many friends and associates in Stratford. She was cheerful and patient all through her sickness and was ready and willing to go and left a bright testimony of a Christian experience. The floral gifts were many and consisted of a broken wheel given by the High School Alumni and a large number of bouquets and flowers by her friends. The funeral was held last Wednesday afternoon at the M.E. church conducted by Rev. E.S. Benjamin. The remains were laid to rest in the Oakwood cemetery.
