Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Palmer's Funeral Home in Fullerton. The Rev. Larry Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton. Mrs. Smith was born on Nov. 13, 1902, to Nelson H. and Clara (Hoyt) Brown in Clay Center. She grew up east of Fairfield and attended country school in Clay County. She married Len Smith on Feb. 25, 1925, in Mankato, Kan. They lived in Clay and Nance counties. He died on April 4, 1978. She remained in Fullerton until June when she moved to Harvard to live with her daughter. She enjoyed making quilts, reading, baseball and watching rodeos. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fullerton. Survivors include two sons, Ivan Smith of Scotia and Orville Smith of Dell Rapids, S.D.; three daughters, Bertha (Mrs. Lloyd) Ljunggren of Harvard, Shirley (Mrs. Donald) Ljunggren of Dell Rapids, S.D., and Norene (Mrs. William) Holmstedt of Genoa; one brother, Olin Brown of Norfolk; one sister, Dorothy Franks of Broken Bow; 26 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Irvin, Melvin and Claire Smith; two brothers, Milton and Ralph Brown; one grandchild and six great-grandchildren.
