Read More	'KIMBROUGH, VIOLA AUGUSTA—Viola Augusta Kimbrough, daughter of William and Mildred Kleinschmidt, was born on April 25, 1914, at Blackfoot, Idaho. After her father’s death in 1915, the family moved to the rural Sutton area to be near family. Viola graduated from Sutton High School in 1931. She was a teacher in Clay and Fillmore counties for three years. Viola was married to Kenneth Kimbrough on Oct. 27, 1935. They began their married life in O’Neill, where their daughter, Sharon Kay, was born. Shortly after they moved to California, their sons, Rodney Kenneth and Dennis Lee were born. The family moved back to Nebraska for a short time during the war to assist with the farming. They returned to Nebraska in 1951 to a farm south of Geneva. Following Kenneth’s death in 1968, Viola remained on the farm enjoying her flowers and garden. Later she moved to Geneva. Family was always priority to Viola. Her support and loving care were evident in her cheerful ways. She was an accomplished cook, with her baked goods lavished on her family and friends. Whenever anyone in the family was sic, she arrived shortly with food still warm from her oven. She was a gracious hostess to unexpected as well as expected guests preparing a meal with ease. Viola loved to work outside in her vegetable and flower gardens. Her California flowers were her prizes. Her green thumb was evident inside also with the violets she raised. Viola was an active member of the Geneva United Methodist church and Stanton Extension Club. She entered Heritage on Feb. 14, 1989. Following surgery for a broken hip, Viola lived from Nov. 6, 1992, until her passing at Long Term Care at Fillmore County Hospital. She passed away on Nov. 1, 1996, at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 7 days. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; son, Rodney; brother, Harold Kleinschmidt and step-father, John Kissler. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ralph Suderow; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Marilyn Kimbrough; sister, Genevieve Taylor; brother, James (Audrey) Kissler; and sister-in-law, Agnes Kleinschmidt; seven grandchildren, David and Tony Kimbrough; Susan (Scott) Daniels; Cindy George; Laurie Minich; Kent (Veda) Minich; and Doug Minich; five great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the Geneva United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dennis Linton-Hendrick, officiating. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery.
