She was born September 21, 1925 in Adams Twp, Defiance County to the late Albert and Frieda (Badenhop) Schroeder. On January 26, 1949, she married Alfred Helberg who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1982. Viola was a homemaker and was also previously employed at the Chief Supermarket and the former Holiday Inn both of Napoleon. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Okolona, a member of the Lydia Circle of the church and an avid bowler in former years . She loved her family and spending time with them. She is survived by a son, David (Jane) Helberg of Napoleon; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Evans, Kristy Helberg and Jeffrey Helberg; 2 great grandchildren, Mackenzie Jane and Justin Thomas Evans; a brother Raymond (Harriet) Schroeder of Okolona, Ohio and a sister Mary Ann (Arnold) Rosebrock of Leipsic, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, and a son Thomas, brothers, Herman and Albert Schroeder, Jr. and sisters, Amelia Bleeks, Clara Bostelman, and an infant sister Florence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 8, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Okolona officiating Pastor Lee Rupert. Burial will follow services at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-8 PM on Tuesday at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Suggested memorials are to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Napoleon Lutheran Home or to a charity of the donor's choice.
