Description	:	Raymond Frederick Schroeder, 93, of Okolona, Ohio died peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. Ray was born May 23rd, 1928 in rural Defiance, Ohio to the late Albert and Frieda (Badenhop) Schroeder. Ray served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Read More	Raymond Frederick Schroeder, 93, of Okolona, Ohio died peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. Ray was born May 23rd, 1928 in rural Defiance, Ohio to the late Albert and Frieda (Badenhop) Schroeder. Ray served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1952, he returned home from the service and started Ray's Garage in Okolona. He worked as an auto mechanic until 1985 and then spent part of his time in the fields farming. Ray was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Okolona, where he held various offices. He was also a member of Ridgeville American Legion Post 454 and served as a past post Commander. He was also a member of IGO. In his spare time, Ray enjoyed playing cards, bowling, fishing, and attending his grandchildren's activities. Ray is survived by his wife, Harriet (Arps) Schroeder, whom he married on May 23rd, 1954 in St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler. He is also survived by his children, John (Lynette) Schroeder, Marc Schroeder, Susan (Todd) Mavis, Julie (Michael) Lawton, and Matthew (Shawna) Schroeder; grandchildren, Nicholas, Joshua, and Katelyn Schroeder, Samantha, Amanda, and Makenna Schroeder, Monica (Philip) Manto, and Lydia and Zakary Schroeder; great granddaughter, Camille "Millie" Manto; and a sister, Mary Ann (Arnold) Rosebrock. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Gabrielle Schroeder; and siblings, Herman (Tillie) Schroeder, Albert (Laura) Schroeder, Clara (Melvin) Bostelman, Viola (Gus) Helberg, Amelia (Melvin) Bleeks, and Florence Schroeder. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9th at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Okolona. Interment will follow at Glenwood cemetery, where military honor will be accorded by Ridgeville American Legion Post 454 Visitation will be held on Friday from 3 – 7 p.m. at Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials are suggested to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Okolona, CHP Hospice, or Henry County Transportation Network.
