Born on Valentine’s Day in 1917, she was a native of Highland County, most recently residing in Poquoson. She was a lifelong member of Beulah Presbyterian Church where she helped start and spent many years singing in the choir. She had served as an elder in the church, where she was known for her hard work and personal support of all its endeavors. Read More	The Recorder December 24, 2009 Viola Pullin Rexrode, 92, passed away on Christmas morning, Dec. 25, 2009. Born on Valentine’s Day in 1917, she was a native of Highland County, most recently residing in Poquoson. She was a lifelong member of Beulah Presbyterian Church where she helped start and spent many years singing in the choir. She had served as an elder in the church, where she was known for her hard work and personal support of all its endeavors. She received an honorary lifetime membership from the Presbyterian Women of the Church. She was also awarded the Mill Gap Ruritan Club Outstanding Citizen of the Year. Preceding her in rest was her husband, Boyd G. Rexrode, and brother, Ralph C. Pullin. Surviving members of her family include her daughters, Linda Freeman and husband Manfred; Wanda Evans and husband Mike, both of Poquoson; grandchildren Sarah Evans Baker and husband Greg of Richmond; Christopher Evans and wife Lindsey of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by niece, Audrey Puffenbarger, and nephews, R.C. Pullin, Larry and Donnie Rexrode, and their families. She had many good friends in her life who will cherish her memory and miss her dearly. The family wishes everyone remember her as a caring member of her community who was always there to help when needed. She enjoyed the simple things in life like her garden, flowers, feeding and watching birds, crocheting, and being with her friends and family. A funeral service will be held Jan. 1, 2010 in Beulah Presbyterian Church. Interment followed in Green Hill Cemetery.
