She was the youngest of six children. She was united in marriage to Thomas Scandridge at Marengo Dec. 29, 1909. To this union one son, Roy, was born. She was baptized Sept. 28, 1940 by the Rev. Ralph Paul Miller. She was taken ill suddenly on Nov. 20 and was rushed to the Mercy hospital in Iowa City where she passed away early... She was the youngest of six children. She was united in marriage to Thomas Scandridge at Marengo Dec. 29, 1909. To this union one son, Roy, was born. She was baptized Sept. 28, 1940 by the Rev. Ralph Paul Miller. She was taken ill suddenly on Nov. 20 and was rushed to the Mercy hospital in Iowa City where she passed away early Thursday morning at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 23 days. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Gladys, six grandchldren, Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Verbalen, Robert Scandridge, David Scandridge, John Scandridge, Mrs. Larry (Delores) Edwards and Catherine, 12 great grandchildren, severl nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends. Her parents, her husband, Tom, who passed way in 1939, one son, Roy, in 1969, one grandson, who died in infancy, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Saturdays, nov. 24 at 1:30 p.m. from McAninch chapel in Victor with Rev. L. B. Haws, pastor of the Millerburg Methodist church, officiating. Two organ solos, "What a Friend We have In Jesus" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" were played by Mrs. Irene Daniels. Casket bearers were Paul Scandridge, Dan Scandridge, Frank Thys, Orville Scandridge, Garrett Bremmer, and Dale Scandridge with burial in the IOOF cemetery at Victor.
