Description	:	Virgil Michels, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. LaVere Michels, living on a farm south of Diller on the state line, was killed instantly when the tractor he was driving overturned on top of him about noon Saturday. He had been discing and had disconnected the disc, and was returning home for dinner when it is thought he hit a ditch and upset. Read More	Virgil Michels, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. LaVere Michels, living on a farm south of Diller on the state line, was killed instantly when the tractor he was driving overturned on top of him about noon Saturday. He had been discing and had disconnected the disc, and was returning home for dinner when it is thought he hit a ditch and upset. His father found him, pinned under the tractor, with his head caught in the fender. It required the help of neighbors to lift the tractor off the boy. The doctor said that he had died instantly. Virgil, a seventh grader in a nearby country shcool, is survived by his parents, one sister, Mrs. Clarence Saathoff of Beatrice, his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Esther Behrends, (a daughter of Bill Behrends of Diller), and many other relatives in the community. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran's church at Diller. The body lay at state in the church from 9:30 to 10a.m., the Rev. O.R. Hibbeler officiated, burial was in the Diller cemetery.
