In memory of Mrs. Annie Virginia Vandiver, who departed this life on Monday evening, Feb. 4, 1901, at her home in Shelbyville, Mo., after an illness of about ten days of pneumonia. Deceased was born in Faulkner county, Va., August 20, 1834, aged 66 years, 5 months and 14 days. Deceased was married to W. A. Vandiver almost 47 years ago. Deceased was born in Faulkner county, Va., August 20, 1834, aged 66 years, 5 months and 14 days. Deceased was married to W. A. Vandiver almost 47 years ago. Their union was blessed with nine children, four sons and five daughters all of whom are living. Besides these she leaves a husband, five brothers, two sisters and a host of relatives and friends to mourn the loss of a devoted and true friend. In early life she gave her heart to the Lord and was a member of the Methodist church. Her life was one of faithful devoted service to the Master. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to the sick and the needy; and to know her was to love her. She joyed in making others comfortable and happy, though she suffered in the effort. She is now at rest. She is beckoning us to that beautiful home where sickness and death enter not. She has passed away but the memory of her still lives in our hearts. May we all so live as to be able when the death angel shall call, to meet the loved ones on the evergreen shore, where pain and parting can come never more. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. J. Smiley, assisted by Rev. J. S. Todd, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Odd Fellows' cemetery at Shelbyville.
