Born October 8, 1928, in Bonicord, Tennessee, to Garrett Tinkle and Willie Brasfield Tinkle, she graduated from Hamlett Robertson High School in 1948. She married Thomas Gorbett Harber on May14, 1949. She lived in Memphis, Tennessee, and worked as a certified dental assistant and at John Gaston Hospital in medicals records until retiring. In 1997, she and her husband made their home in Alamo, Tennessee. Virginia was a member of First Baptist Church in Alamo, Tennessee. She enjoyed sewing and cooking, often experimenting with new recipes and taking classes to learn new techniques. Survivors include her brother, her nieces, and her sister-in-laws. After sixty years of marriage, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband. Services will be held at 3 o’clock on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Ronk Funeral Home in Alamo, Tennessee. Family will receive friends beginning at 1 o’clock before the service. Burial at Crockett Mills Cemetery will immediately follow the services. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Alamo, Tennessee or to Crockett Mills Cemetery, Crockett Mills, Tennessee. The family wishes to express special appreciation to the staff at Alamo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Wayne Rhear, Dr. Keith Atkins, Leigh with Caris Hospice, and the Crockett County Ambulance Authority for their help and support. and Jane (Don) Borst of Vonore, Tennessee.
