She was born on April 8, 1916 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Sylvan S. & Ethel Mae (Robeson) Smith. Virgia with her husband Norman, owned and operated Bowman's Quality Meat Farm located on 502 west of Greenville. She also was a homemaker. Member of the Stelvideo Christian Church. Bowman, 91, of Greenville, Ohio passed away Monday morning December 17, 2007 at her residence. She was born on April 8, 1916 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Sylvan S. & Ethel Mae (Robeson) Smith. Virgia with her husband Norman, owned and operated Bowman's Quality Meat Farm located on 502 west of Greenville. She also was a homemaker. Member of the Stelvideo Christian Church. Virgia had been very active in the Order fo the Eastern Star and was a Past Worthy Matron of both the Greenville and Gettysburg lodges. She also enjoyed extensive traveling. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Norman M. Bowman (Feb. 4, 1983), brothers; Virgil, George, Herman and Ralph Smith and Ira and Adam as infants, sisters; Mary Jane Williams, Olive Green, Mabel Clark, Elma Bustamante and sister Onda as an infant. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Myra Jane & Quentin Clark of Ft. Myers, FL., grandson and wife; Kirt and Donna Clark of Greenville, great grandsons; Patrick, Kevin and Michael Clark of Greenville, sisters in law; Geneva Read of Columbus, Ohio, June Bowman Sodders of Greenville and Ruth Smith of Morehead, N.C. as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends. There will be a service held on Friday, December 21, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville with the Rev. Vernon Rodeffer officiating. Burial will take place in the Abbottsville Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contribution can be made to the Stelvideo Christian Church.
