Description	:	Virginia Jean Bigger was born December 21, 1923, at the farm home near Marysville to Otto and Netta Hafner Schwarz. She passed away on August 17, 2003, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas. Virginia attended Elliott Rural school and Marysville High School, graduating in 1940. She took the Normal Training course in school and was qualified to begin teaching rural school. She taught several years before continuing her education at Manhattan Bible College in Manhattan, Kansas, where she graduated with and Bachelor of Arts degree in 1949. She passed away on August 17, 2003, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas. Virginia attended Elliott Rural school and Marysville High School, graduating in 1940. She took the Normal Training course in school and was qualified to begin teaching rural school. She taught several years before continuing her education at Manhattan Bible College in Manhattan, Kansas, where she graduated with and Bachelor of Arts degree in 1949. While she was a student she preached on Sundays for the North Elm Christian Church for a period of time. On May 27, 1949, she was married to Maurice Bigger in Manhattan. To this union were born 3 children: Jim Bigger and Kathy Mosher now of Lawrence, Kansas, and Denise Long of Great Bend. Through the years she accompanied her husband as he ministered to a number of churches in Kansas and Missouri. When he took a job with the SRS they moved to Parsons, Kansas, and then back to Marysville. Maurice passed away on August 14, 1968. Virginia lived at Marysville for over 20 years before moving to Lawrence to be near her two older children. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Maurice. Surviving her are her children and two grandchildren as well as two brothers Kenneth and Victor both of Marysville.
