She departed this life at her residence in Hebron, NE at the age of 90 years. Virginia grew up in Hebron attending school and graduating for Hebron High School with the class of 1945. Virginia grew up in Hebron attending school and graduating for Hebron High School with the class of 1945. She married Alvin Ramsbottom in Hebron August 17, 1950. This union was blessed with one son Tom. Virginia and her husband operated Hebron Livestock Commission Co. owned by Alvin and L.G. Ramsbottom. Virginia was the bookkeeper for many years. She also worked for the office of the county treasurer for many years. She was a member of the Thayer County Historical Society, working with the city and catholic cemeteries, helping make maps and keeping the records updated she loved genealogy. She was a Girl Scout Leader, Boy Scout Leader, past member of the Eastern Star. Virginia loved working with the children at The Thayer Central School as a foster grandparent helping children excel in reading and many other things. The children loved her so much. Teachers appreciated the help making their load lighter. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin, half brother Kenneth Ramsey and step son Jim Ramsbottom. She is survived by her son Tom Ramsbottom and wife Mimi of Elkhorn, NE, sister Charlotte Concatore, grandchildren; Jamie Moore and husband Jay of Lincoln, Jake Ramsbottom and wife Katie of Omaha, NE, Jackson Ramsbottom and fiance Emma of Omaha, NE and Jeff Ramsbottom and wife Kristen of Trophy Club, TX, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 13, 2017 at The First Community Church in Hebron, NE at 11AM. Officiant will be Pastor Steve Speichinger, organist Margaret Miller, congregational hymns “Amazing Grace”, “How Great Thou Art” and “The Old Rugged Cross”, visitation will be Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron with family greeting friends 5PM-8PM. Condolence may be left at www.krollfh.com, memorials in care of the family. Kroll Funeral Home of Hebron, NE is in charge of arrangements. Burial at Ida Cemetery at Republic County, Kansas.
