Description	:	Virginia 'Virgie' (Lindsey) Douglas, age 93, of Nixa, Missouri, formerly of Winona, MO, was surrounded by family and peacefully went to be with Jesus on August 15, 2016. Virgie was born on December 25, 1922, in Winona, MO the daughter of John L. and Minnie Lindsey. She married Lawrence Douglas on January 9, 1943. In addition to being a wife and mother, she held many jobs and eventually retired from Barnes-Jewish Hospital in 1985. Virgie loved listening to her husband play music. She also loved to quilt, sew, and crochet. But most of all, she loved being with and doing things... Read More	Virginia 'Virgie' (Lindsey) Douglas, age 93, of Nixa, Missouri, formerly of Winona, MO, was surrounded by family and peacefully went to be with Jesus on August 15, 2016. Virgie was born on December 25, 1922, in Winona, MO the daughter of John L. and Minnie Lindsey. She married Lawrence Douglas on January 9, 1943. She also loved to quilt, sew, and crochet. But most of all, she loved being with and doing things for her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great grandkids. Virgie was saved and baptized in Willow Springs, MO on Easter Sunday 1960. She and Lawrence moved to Nixa in 1991 where they enjoyed attending Calvary Bible Church. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Douglas of Nixa, MO; her parents, John and Minnie Lindsey of Winona, MO; one sister, Nancy Lindsey of Piedmont, MO; two brothers, Perry Lindsey of Winona, MO, and Marvin “Boots” Lindsey of Winona, MO; one daughter, Gail Garcia of Nixa, MO; one son, Robert Douglas of Sacramento, CA; one great-grandson, Brandon Burnett of Sacramento, CA. Survivors include one brother John Lindsey and wife Nancy, of Winona, MO; one daughter, Sharon Hamilton and husband Ron, of Nixa, MO; one daughter-in-law Kim Douglas of Sacramento, CA; nine grandchildren, Maggie Kolb and husband Mike of Woodland, CA, Bobby Douglas of Sacramento, CA, Shelley Block and husband Joel of Springfield, MO; Samantha Higley and husband James of Bentonville, AR; Rhonda Franz and husband Jared of Keller, TX; Lauren Ward and husband Brandon, of Nixa, MO; Alexandria Garcia, of Nixa, MO; Erica Garcia, of Nixa, MO; and Danielle Garcia, of Nixa, MO. Those surviving her also include sixteen great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Donations may be to the Alzheimer’s Association.
