Description	:	VIRGINIA LINEBARGER was born on 29 April 1845 in Washington County, Oregon, the eleventh and last child of LEWIS and JANE [HENDERSON] LINEBARGER. She and her twin brother, FRANCIS MARION LINEBARGER were born two years after her parents had crossed the plains from Missouri to settle in the Oregon territory. VIRGINIA LINEBARGER spent her early years in Washington County and then moved with her family to Linn County, Oregon in about 1851 and that is where she met her future husband JOHN THOMAS GILMOUR. VIRGINIA LINEBARGER was married to JOHN THOMAS GILMOUR in Albany, Linn County, Oregon on 26 October 1862, and they resided in Linn County for 16 years before moving to Silverton, Marion County, Oregon for a brief stay and then in 1880 on to Ellensburg in the Washington Territory. They became the parents of eleven children: 1. JEFFERSON D. GILMOUR, born July 1866 in Lebanon, Linn County, Oregon; he died at home in Lebanon, Linn County, Oregon on 15 May 1876. 2. ELLEN J. GILMOUR, born on 2 September 1867 in Lebanon, Linn County, Oregon; she died at home in Lebanon, Linn County, Oregon on 1 October 1867. 3. FRANCES IRENE GILMOUR, born on 31 July 1868 in Lebanon, Linn County, Oregon; married JOHN "KIDD" LOTHROP in 1885 in Ellensburg, Kittitas County, Washington; she died there on 4 December 1954. 4. HELENA BELL GILMOUR, born on 18 November 1870 in Albany, Linn County, Oregon; married first JOSEPH MILLS on 16 May 1889 in Ellensburg, Kittitas County, Washington; married second ROBERT VOCKE in 1910; married third JOHN GREER PARKINSON on 11 July 1918 in St. Anthony, Fremont County, Idaho; she died on 9 July 1960 in Hawthorne, Los Angeles County, California. 5. In 1880, the GILMOUR'S made a decision to move from Oregon to the Kittitas Valley located in the center of the Washington Territory. In October 1880 they made a covered wagon journey northward across the Columbia River and northward across the Satus Pass and along the Yakima River until they arrived in the town of Ellensburg. They settled briefly in the Shaser Hotel while her husband JOHN THOMAS GILMOUR and his brother JAMES set up a Blacksmith Shop. They then and then found a permanent residence at Third and Walnut. JOHN THOMAS GILMOUR died in 1905 in Ellensburg and VIRGINIA [LINEBARGER] GILMOUR died there on 9 August 1914.
