Born March 3, 1928, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John Wilbur Morris Sr. and Irene Coleman Morris. She was also predeceased by her husband, Clarence Edward Kube Sr.; two brothers, Warren L. Morris and Robert E. Morris; and one sister, Marian Reese Morris. She was a member, deacon and later deacon emeritus of the Rhoadesville Baptist Church, a member of the 13th Virginia Regiment Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, a member of the Colonial Dames... Born March 3, 1928, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John Wilbur Morris Sr. and Irene Coleman Morris. She was also predeceased by her husband, Clarence Edward Kube Sr.; two brothers, Warren L. Morris and Robert E. Morris; and one sister, Marian Reese Morris. She was a member, deacon and later deacon emeritus of the Rhoadesville Baptist Church, a member of the 13th Virginia Regiment Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, a member of the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, and the National Society of Madison Family Descendants. She is survived by one daughter, Lynette K. Higginbotham and husband Sammy, of Orange; one son, C. Edward Kube Jr. and wife Bernice, of Mineral; two brothers, John Wilbur Morris Jr. and the late Shirley H. Morris, of Orange, and Truman “Jimmy” Franklin and wife Nancy B. Morris, of Orange; two sisters, Dorothy M. Anderson and husband Charles, of Richmond, and Delia M. Hicks and husband Woody, of Mechanicsville; five grandchildren, S. Page Higginbotham III and wife Ansley, John C. Higginbotham and wife Tracy, Gail H. Gibson and husband Brian, Janelle K. Buggio and husband Vincent, and C. Edward “Trey” Kube III, and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at Rhoadesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Nancy Stanton McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in the church’s cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rhoadesville Baptist Church Building Fund, 26042 Lafayette Drive, Rhoadesville, VA 22542. The family would like to thank all the Dogwood Village staff for their loving care. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
