NINE Virl Roy Nine, eldest son of Henry Clay and Mantie May Nine, was born in Ottercreek township, Lucas county, Iowa, March 26, 1898, and died very suddenly at Indianola, on his way to work, Feb. 21, 1962, at the age of 63 years, 11 months and 5 days. He was united in marriage on May 24, 1939, to Eva Tidball of Liberty Center, Ia. To this union one son, Larry Virl, was born. He spent most of his early life farming and operated a grocery store in Norwood, Ia., except for a few years spent in Oregon. The past 10 years he made his home in Indianola, Ia. He worked at Solar Aircraft several years before his present employment with the Yellow Cab Taxi Co. in Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his son, Larry Virl; one brother, Ervin Nine of Davenport, Ia.; and four sisters, Hazel Goode of Chariton, Ia., Eloise Byerly of Des Moines, Vera Curtis of Norwood, Ia., Vena Hancock of Davenport, Ia., as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the United Brethren Church of Norwood, Ia., Saturday, Feb. 24, 1962, at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Francis Hurst. Interment was at Fletcher Cemetery near Norwood.
