Description	:	Vivian Madeline Butterfield, 71, Santa Ana, Calif., died Nov. 20, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Orange, Calif., following an illness of two months. Services were Nov. 25 at the Peek Family Funeral Chapel, Westminster, Calif. Burial was in the Westminster Memorial Park. She was born May 22, 1920, to Ben and Ruie Preston Bishop. Read More	Vivian Madeline Butterfield, 71, Santa Ana, Calif., died Nov. 20, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Orange, Calif., following an illness of two months. Services were Nov. 25 at the Peek Family Funeral Chapel, Westminster, Calif. Burial was in the Westminster Memorial Park. She was born May 22, 1920, to Ben and Ruie Preston Bishop. She attended grade school for eight years at Abdal District No. 92 and began high school in Superior. In the spring of 1934, her parents purchased a farm near Hebron. She finished her school at Hebron, graduating in 1937. She was able to attend her class 50 year reunion in 1987. She attended church and Sunday School at the Beulah Church. Following the move to Hebron, the family joined the Methodist Church where she was active in the youth group. During high school and in the depression years, she worked after school and Saturdays at the Hebron Beavers bakery. She went to Fairbury with the Beavers' to help in their bakery there after graduation. In 1940, she went to California to find employment. There she met and married James Butterfield Jr., Long Beach, on Aug. 31, 1947. After purchasing a home at Garden Grove, Calif., they adopted a five-day-old baby girl. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, a daughter, Sherri Butterfield, San Jose, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. Eilert Bargen (Vernoyne), Superior, and Mrs. Harlan Meyer (Kathryne), Nelson, two brothers, Reece Bishop, York, and Duane Bishop, Greenburg, Kan., eight nephews and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Garland Ben. Superior Express, Thursday, December 5, 1991
