Description	:	Wallace Freeman Sechrist, son of Henry and Catharine Sechrist, was born near Liberty, Lycoming county, Pennsylvania, on March 23, 1862. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gladys Reed, near Ada, Saturday afternoon at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 14 days. In 1879 he came with his parents and other early settlers to Ottawa county, and here he lived through the remainder of his long and useful life. Read More	Wallace Freeman Sechrist, son of Henry and Catharine Sechrist, was born near Liberty, Lycoming county, Pennsylvania, on March 23, 1862. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gladys Reed, near Ada, Saturday afternoon at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 14 days. In 1879 he came with his parents and other early settlers to Ottawa county, and here he lived through the remainder of his long and useful life. He was long one of the well known and greatly respected farmers of the west side of the county. On Dec. 4, 1884, he was united in marriage to Anna Barbara Campbell, who preceded him in death just three months, on May 6, 1949. To this union five children were born. One daughter, Ida Pearl, died in infancy. The other four all survive him as follows: Earl Sechrist, of Solomon, Kansas; Mrs. Gladys Reed and Mrs. Rena Sidener, both of Ada, and Mrs. Gertie Price, of Brookville. One brother, Joe Sechrist, of Ada and one sister, Mrs. Tom Shoemaker, of Minneapolis, also survive him. He also leaves eleven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a member of the Ada Methodist church. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Fouts Funeral Home in Minneapolis, with the Rev. Ernest Smart, of the Ada Baptist Church, officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Gilbert Bacon and Mrs. Keith Bacon, with Mrs. Ray Coatney at the piano. Pallbearers were Rolla Hogarty, Charles Sidener, Henry Beichley, Lee Van Meter, Rolland Shafer and Ray Coatney. Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery, at Ada. Minneapolis Messenger Aug. 11, 1949.
