Walter Austin Jaquith was born August 4, 1858, in Trenton, Michigan, and departed this life April 25, 1926, at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 21 days. He came to Americus, with his parents on the spring of 1875 where he lived until his marriage to Lizzie M. Shultz, Feb. 2, 1882. Since that time he has lived on his farm on upper Allen creek, excepting a few years when he lived in Americus. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Jaquith, nine of whom are living, and Mark W., who died in infancy. Mr. Jaquith s survived by his wife, four sons: Charley, Earl and Roy of Americus, and John, of Durham, Cal.; five daughters, Grace Langstaff, of Lang, Rosa Houk, of Americus, Lillie Reiff, of Kansas City, Mable Graham of Bushong, and Gladys Ernst of Emporia; two brothers Frank D. of Americus, and Roscoe C. of Emporia; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Woodmansee and Miss Jessie Jaquith of Americus. Fourteen grandchildren and many other relatives are also among the survivors. Mr. Jaquith became a christian when a young man and united with the United Brethern church and remained a consistent follower of his Master ever since. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at Mt. Hermon church, and were in charge of the pastor, Rev. O.S. Jones. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kerr, Loren Drake and Mrs. Chester Milliken. The pall bearers were Mark and Ira Grimsley, Ralph Kerr, Walter Adams, Elmer Adams.
