Funeral services were to be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle, Ark., with Kent Tallent officiating. Burial was to follow at Brearley Cemetery under the direction Cornwell Funeral Home. Mr. Willis was born on Oct. 22, 1908, in Soda Valley, north of Greenbrier, Ark. He was a barber in Dardanelle, Ark., from the late 1920s until the early 1970s. He was a member of the Dardanelle First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Marie Farnam Willis; and one grandson, Timothy Lynn Willis. Survivors include three sons, Bobby Gene Willis of Dardanelle, Ark., James Lee Willis of Borger and Fred Alan Willis of Boulder, Colo.; one daughter, Margaret Ann Willis Barker of Flint, Mich.; one sister, Vannie Strawn of Lorton, Va.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, eight nieces and nephews. Casket bearers were David Glen Willis, Edward Gary Willis, Paul Stanley Willis, Don Murphy, John Rizzardi, Bobby Bata, James William Pfeifer, and Bruce McConnell. Honorary casket bearers were Roy Aday, Arther Lee Banks, Orville Lee Brown, Ed Burkes, Joe Byers, Ted Cantrell, Frank Johnston, Jimmy Martin, James Lee Stubbs, Pete Tilman, Duard Ellis, and Dover Caldwell. Memorials can be made in lieu of flowers to the First Baptist Church at 118 S. 2nd St. in Dardanelle, Ark., 72834 of Gideons International at P.O. Box 833 in Danville, Ark., 72833.
