Description	:	Walter F. Mittelsteadt, 81, Beulah, died Friday, August 29, 1997, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Services were held Tuesday September 2, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Beulah, ND, with Rev. Toby H. Heller officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Melvin Berger, Clement Morast, Dalton Morast, Virgil Gunsch, Wesley Mittelstedt and Gary Weiss. Mr. Mittelsteadt was born November 25, 1915, in Mercer County, near Zap, a son of Friedrich and Julianna (Renn) Mittelsteadt. He was raised and educated north of Zap. Mr. Mittelsteadt was born November 25, 1915, in Mercer County, near Zap, a son of Friedrich and Julianna (Renn) Mittelsteadt. He was raised and educated north of Zap. Mr. Mittelsteadt served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in California for a time in the early 1930's. On November 6, 1938, he married Hertha Pischel at Zion Lutheran Church, in Beulah, a double wedding with his brother, Adolph, marrying Hertha's sister, Alvina. Walter and Hertha farmed and ranched seven miles northeast of Zap until 1975, when they moved into Beulah where they have since lived. He continued to help Clyde on the farm as long as he was able. Mr. Mittelsteadt was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Beulah and a past member of St. Johns's Wittenberg, where he had served as an elder. He had also served on the Wittenberg District School Board and was a member of the Beulah Senior Citizens. He is survived by his wife, Hertha; one son an daughter-in-law, Clyde and Cheryl of Zap; four grandchildren, Brent of Dickinson, Crystal, Tiffany and Cody, all of Zap; one brother, Adolph and Alvina of Hazen, ND; two sisters, Sophie Wiedrich of Driscoll, ND, and Roselia Boeckel of La Mesa, California, and numerous nieces and nephews. Walter was preceded in death by his parents , one brother, Rudolph, and three sisters, Emma Ost, Ida Morast, and an infant sister, Hulda Adeline. Arrangements conducted by Seibel Funeral Homes, Beulah and Hazen. Interment is at Beulah City Cemetery, Beulah, ND.
