On Nov. 3, 1951, he married Dorothy J. (Jackson) Brubaker and she preceded him in death on July 19, 2008. James served with the 101st Airborne of the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by children, James “Shark” Slee, Cincinnati, Ohio; Larry “Moe” Brubaker, Napoleon; Linda (Paul) Limpach, Napoleon; Richard “Dick” (Cathy) Brubaker, Napoleon; Kenneth Brubaker, Napoleon; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren;, and 1 great great granddaughter; sisters, Gladys Nash, Delta, Ohio; Nina (Kenneth) Merilliat, Adrian, Mich.; Gertrude “Trudy” (Donald) Young, Port Clinton, Ohio; brothers, Robert Slee, Goetisville, Mich., and John Slee, Liberty Center, Ohio. He was preceded in death by sons, Steve and William Brubaker. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29 at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, Ohio, with Pastor Russell Shaeffer officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. on Monday, March 28 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Judy Brubaker Scholarship Fund at Northwest State Community College.
