Description	:	Walter Levern Hoffman Sept 14,1913-Aug 7,2010 Walter Levern Hoffman was born September 14, 1913 to Walter and Mable Hoffman at Crookston, Nebraska. He married Zelda McKinney on March 7th at Martin, South Dakota. To this union three children were born—Wynona Lee, Edna Lorean and Gary Cecil. Levern worked in the Civil Service for twenty-seven years. Most of the that time was spent at White Sands Military Base in New Mexico. They retired in Valentine in 1973. Read More	Walter Levern Hoffman Sept 14,1913-Aug 7,2010 Walter Levern Hoffman was born September 14, 1913 to Walter and Mable Hoffman at Crookston, Nebraska. Levern loved spending time with nieces and nephews, teaching them to love the outdoors as well. He also enjoyed a good game of cribbage and pecan pie. He had a fun sense of humor and loved to tease. He is survived by his wife Zelda of seventy-two years; sister Dorothy Nelsen of Valentine; brother Dwaine Hoffman of Iowa; brothers Arnie and Willie Hoffman of Valentine; sisters Joan Knuth of Valentine, Janice Davis & Marylou Curtis of Texas numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three children; brothers Cecil and Clarence; sisters Ann, Myra, Adah, Lola, Lila, Adelia, Elaine, Garnet, Alice and Martha; and an infant brother. A memorial service was held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Valentine with Pastor Noah Odell officiating. Music was provided by Bethany Springer. A private family interment will be held at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine.
