Description	:	Watte came to the USA in 1906 and apparently went back to Friesland to marry Sjoukje. The two first children were born in Sneek, Friesland. The family (Watte, Sjoukje, George and Maartje) arrived in New York on 21 September 1914 in New York with the steamer Nieuw Amsterdam. Walter De Boer, 72, passed away at his home early Saturday morning, February 18, 1956. He was born in the Netherlands January 16, 1884, married Sadie De Boer in the Netherlands November 14, 1908, and came to the United States the same year. They had farmed most of their life northeast of Hull and moved in 1946. Survivors are his wife, Sadie; 2 sons, George of Inwood and Henry attending Calvin College at Grand Rapids, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Adrian Boer of Artesia, Calif. ; 2 brothers, Siebron of Sheldon and Henry of Hospers; 4 sisters, Mrs. Abe Reitsma of Hayen, Mrs. Peter Hoekstra of Hull and 2 sisters in the Netherlands and six grandchildren. Preceding him in death were two daughters, Fanny, who passed away in 1937 at the age of 14 years and May, in 1940 at the age of 26 years; 2 brothers, Siebolt of Corsica, S.D., and Jelle of Doon; and two sisters in the Netherlands. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 22, 1956, at the Christian Reformed church, with Rev. H.C. Van Deelen officiating. Interment was in Hope Cemetery. Sioux County Index 1956-02-23.
