Description	:	Walter William Rickenberg, 94, of Napoleon, passed away March 1, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born in Napoleon, Ohio on August 13, 1923, to the late Ernest and Altha (Rohrs) Rickenberg. He was united in marriage to the late Lula Emilie Witte on May 2, 1948, at Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler, Ohio. God blessed them with eight children. Read More	Walter William Rickenberg, 94, of Napoleon, passed away March 1, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born in Napoleon, Ohio on August 13, 1923, to the late Ernest and Altha (Rohrs) Rickenberg. He was united in marriage to the late Lula Emilie Witte on May 2, 1948, at Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler, Ohio. God blessed them with eight children. Walter was a 1941 graduate of Ridgeville High School. He worked for Tony’s Bakery for 9 years and sold real estate for Reiser Realty from 1960-1969. He was owner and broker of his own business, Rickenberg Realty, from 1969-1999. He then sold real estate part time for Fuller Realty and Reiser Realty until he retired at age 80. He was past President of the Northwest Ohio Board of Realtors. He attended Napoleon Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed traveling, landscaping, spending time with family, playing cards, and volunteering. Walter inspired his family with his love, faith, humility and sense of humor. Left to cherish his memory are children Carol (Mike) Mackin, Mary (Stewart) Wilkins, Grace Fronce, Jane (Richard) Crawford, Beth (Chris) Moore, Jon Rickenberg, and Christa (Shelby) Dawson, 13 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Walter was preceded in death by his son David, son-in-law Tom Fronce, and brothers Lawrence Orman Rickenberg and Harold George Rickenberg. Visitation will take place at Snyder-Wesche-Hoening Funeral Home Monday, March 5, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, at the Napoleon Church of the Nazarene. A one hour visitation will take place prior to the service. His final resting place will be in Glenwood Cemetery of Napoleon. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Henry County Special Olympics or charity of the donors choice.
