Born May 30, 1929, in Danville she was the daughter of George H. and Vada L. Parrott Grinstead. On April 25, 1948, she married Marvin Watts in Danville. He died Nov. 6, 1966. Born May 30, 1929, in Danville she was the daughter of George H. and Vada L. Parrott Grinstead. On April 25, 1948, she married Marvin Watts in Danville. He died Nov. 6, 1966. On Feb. 5, 1972, she married Don Nelson in Danville. He died Nov. 22, 1993. Mrs. Nelson was a 1946 graduate of Danville High School and a graduate of Chillicothe Business School. She worked as secretary at Farm Service, Danville State Savings Bank, and was a tax preparer for H&R Block. She developed the Don-Wan Subdivision of Danville. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Danville, church circles and P.E.O. She enjoyed reading and playing cards. Survivors include one daughter, Donna Jensen of New London; one son, Steve Watts of rural Danville; stepdaughter, Sharon Hammer of Des Moines; stepson, Stan Nelson of Danville; three grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many step great-grandchildren; and special friend, Ed Frank of Oakville. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one stepson, one step grandchild, and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Nelson will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Danville with the Revs. Harry Hollingsworth and Jim Luder officiating. Burial will be in Jaggar Cemetery, rural Danville. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Central Iowa and Danville Fire Department.
