Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery in Gregory, South Dakota at approximately 3:30 PM on Tuesday with military honors provided by the Hutchinson American Legion Post No. 6. Warren was born October 19, 1919 in Winner, South Dakota to Louis and Veda (Mashino) King. He graduated from Dallas High School in Dallas, South Dakota and was then drafted into the United States Army. He served in the 13th Armor Division during World War II. On June 17, 1947, Warren married Iva Stevicks in Burke, South Dakota. After their marriage, they lived in Gregory and Warren was involved in farming. The family moved to Rapid City and Warren worked for Rand Construction during the building of Ellsworth Air Force Base. He then was a heavy equipment operator for many projects throughout the state. In 1957, the family settled in Gayville and Warren continued his work in construction. Then he spent around 15 years working for Gehl Manufacturing in Yankton. Warren loved gardening, reading and fishing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed attending auction sales which was one of his favorite things to do. Warren is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Debra; infant son, Wendell; 4 brothers: Clifford, Marvin, Orlin and Norman King; and 2 sisters, June Young and Jeraldine Peterson.
