Description	:	Wayne Robbe Wayne Walker Robbe. 73, of Eureka, died on Jan. 14, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Jan. 17, 1930, at Whittier, Calif., to J. Fletcher and Alma Robbe. The family moved to Spokane in 1932 and to Eureka in 1939. Wayne graduated from Lincoln County High School at Eureka and worked with his father at the family lumber mill. Read More	Wayne Robbe Wayne Walker Robbe. 73, of Eureka, died on Jan. 14, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Jan. 17, 1930, at Whittier, Calif., to J. Fletcher and Alma Robbe. The family moved to Spokane in 1932 and to Eureka in 1939. Wayne graduated from Lincoln County High School at Eureka and worked with his father at the family lumber mill. He also operated the Robbe Christmas Tree Farm. Wayne married Naomi Mackey on April 26, 1951, at Eureka. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. Wayne then began a 30-year career on the Kootenai National Forest with the U.S. Forest Service, working in various positions including forestry technician, log scaler, fire control officer and law enforcement. For most of the time he was assigned to the Raven Ranger Station in the Libby district and Murphy Lake Ranger Station at Fortine. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eureka, volunteering many hours toward the construction of the current church. He enjoyed sharing his talents and skills with the Masonic Lodge, the Lions Club, the Boy Scouts, the Dickey Lake Special Education Camp and as bus driver for the Eureka schools. He loved many outdoor activities including camping, fishing, hunting and growing tomatoes and burpless cucumbers. Survivors include daughter Deborah Kaufman and her husband Donald, Spokane; sons Mark of Spokane, Clyde and his wife Margaret, Butte, and Gregory and his wife Vicki, Fairbands, Alaska; sisters Lois Stroud and her husband Russell, Eureka, and Irene Turner and her husband Glenn, Canby, Ore; brother Almarion Robbe and his wife Evelyn, Des Moines, Wash.; seven grandchildren, Bryan, Brent, Kelli, Sharree, Justin, Miriam and Elle; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Naomi and sister Jean Miller. Services were conducted Monday at the Baptist Church in Eureka with the Rev. David Juroe and longtime friend the Rev. Carl Pershall officiating. Interment followed in the Tobacco Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Paptist Church/Youth Activities Fund, Box 391, Eureka, MT 59917 or to the Communities for a Great Northwest/Raven Ranger Station Restoration Project, 5957 Champion Road, Libby.
