His parents were Kenneth Layefette Roberts and Dorothy Etta (Smith) Roberts Bowling. Wayne had three brothers, Jacque K. "Jack" Roberts, Maurice Eugene "Gene" Roberts and William Herbert "Bill" Roberts and one sister, Frances Louise Roberts. In approximately 1946 all five of the children were removed from their home and became wards at the Butler County Children's Home. Roberts Mar 14, 1943 - May 22, 1980* Wayne Roberts was born Mar 14, 1943 in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio. His parents were Kenneth Layefette Roberts and Dorothy Etta (Smith) Roberts Bowling. Wayne had three brothers, Jacque K. "Jack" Roberts, Maurice Eugene "Gene" Roberts and William Herbert "Bill" Roberts and one sister, Frances Louise Roberts. In approximately 1946 all five of the children were removed from their home and became wards at the Butler County Children's Home. The children were then separated from each other by various foster homes but the four brothers reunited after each of them became of adult age. Frances was the only one that had been adopted by a couple in Dayton, Oh. in about 1948. Her name was changed and she is Meridel Betty "Karen" (Ertel) Williams. Sadly none of the four brothers ever saw their sister again. Wayne served in the U S Army from Jun 8, 1960 to May 22, 1963. In 1971 he married Sherry Helen Blake. He had four children, daughter, Chantelle Roberts; two sons, Kevin Roberts, Jeffrey Roberts and stepdaughter, Tina Roberts. Sadly he died at the age of 37 in a vehicle accident May 22, 1980 when a hauler failed to verify the clearance height of his load before going under a bridge. * The Newspaper Obituary courtesy of the Webb-Noonan Funeral Home in Hamilton, Ohio* "Services for Wayne Roberts, 37, 2613 Oxford-Millville Rd., Oxford, who was killed in a traffic accident Thursday at McGonigie, will be at 10 AM Tuesday in Webb funeral home, 240 Ross Ave., with burial in Millville cemetery. Visitation 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. He was born in Hamilton, son of Kenneth and Dorothy Bowling Roberts and attended Reilly school. Mr. Roberts married Sherry H Blake in 1971 in Newport Ky. He was a truck driver for Wehal trucking Co., New Miami, for nine years. He had served in the US Army in Germany was a member of AMVETS Hamilton and Teamsters Union 836. Surviving are his wife, Sherry Roberts, Oxford; daughter, Chantelle Roberts, at home; two sons, Kevin Roberts, at home, Jeffrey Roberts, Hamilton; stepdaughter, Tina Roberts, Hamilton; two brothers, Gene Roberts, Tampa Florida, and Bill Roberts, Hamilton."
