Meyer, 76, of Fremont will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fremont. Meyer died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. He was born July 29, 1926, in Millard. He grew up in Elkhorn and was a 1943 graduate of Elkhorn High School, and was valedictorian of his class. He graduated Cum Laude in 1948 from Midland College in Fremont. Meyer moved to Fremont in 1951. He was employed by George A. Hormel & Co. in Fremont for 39 1/2 years in office management and retired in 1987. He also was owner and operator of Meyer Accounting & Tax Service in Fremont for 50 years. He was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fremont, where he served on the church council and stewardship committee and was the church treasurer for several years; member of the Fremont High School Booster Club, Midland College Booster Club and Blue Key National Honor Fraternity. He married Mildred "Millie" Holme June 10, 1951, at Omaha. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Craig (and wife Denise) Meyer, of Lincoln, Jeff (and wife Rochelle) Meyer and Kevin (and wife Lori) Meyer, all of Fremont; a daughter, Kim Lindgren of Wahoo and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. The Rev. Michael Thomas will officiate Tuesday service. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation continues one hour prior to service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn. Memorials have been established to the church and Nebraska Children's Home.
