Description	:	Wesley M. Larsen was born Jun 25, 1909, in rural Union County, South Dakota to parents Robert and Mary (Petersen) Larsen. He died October 15, 2004 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 95 years. Wesley attended Brule rural school. He married Florence Strom on September 16, 1937. The couple farmed and lived all their married lives south of Beresford, SD. Florence died in February of 1990. Larsen was born Jun 25, 1909, in rural Union County, South Dakota to parents Robert and Mary (Petersen) Larsen. He died October 15, 2004 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 95 years. Wesley attended Brule rural school. He married Florence Strom on September 16, 1937. The couple farmed and lived all their married lives south of Beresford, SD. Florence died in February of 1990. Wesley lived on the farm until 2001 when he became a resident at the Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford where he has resided until the present time. Wesley was baptized at Dalesburg Baptist church and was currently a member of the Dalesburg Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Union County Livestock Improvement Association ad the Union County Crop Improvement Association. He helped organize the South East South Dakota Experiment Farm and served many years on their board of directors and also helped organize the Prairie Herdsman 4-H Club and was a 4-H leader for many years. Wesley was recognized for his service on the SDSU Agriculture Advisory Board. He served on the Union County Planning and Zoning Board as well as donating his time to many other civic and agricultural organizations and boards. He loved working with his cattle and proudly raised pure-bred Polled Herefords. His other hobbies included bowling and pitching horseshoes. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and six sisters. He is survived by three sons, two daughters, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, one brother, one sister, Sioux Falls, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
