Robert Westerberg of Harcourt officiating. A quartet sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Abide With Me" and Mrs. Arthur Larson sang "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. Lloyd Angstrom. Pallbearers were Lester Vinson, Dale Kane, William Peterson, Frank Paulson, Orland Johnson and Leonard Angstrom. Burial was at the Dayton cemetery with the Hanson Funeral home of Stratford in charge. Wesley Robert Peterson, son of Frank and Clara Peterson, was born Jan. 31, 1896 in Boxholm, Ia. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended school at Dayton, Ia., and Des Moines. He served in the Air Force during World War I, and after the war returned to Dayton, Ia. Mr. Peterson was united in marriage to Lucille Olson, March 31, 1920 and to this union, four children were born. Mr. Peterson was a business man in Stratford for 26 years with the exception of several years when he worked for Acme Manufacturing Co. in Webster City. He was a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church and was also a member of the Frederick Sonksen Legion Post. He died very suddenly at his home in Stratford, June 19, 1959 at the age of 63 years, 4 months and 19 days. Survivors include his widow, Lucille; a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Maxine) McLeish of O'Neill, Neb.; three sons, Quentin of Independence, Mo., Charles of near Dayton, and Maurice of Fort Dodge; eight grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Clara Peterson of Stratford; four brothers, Arthur and Edwin of Dayton, Arvid and Ted of Stratford; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by his father, Frank Peterson; a sister, Viola; and a grandchild, Denise McLeish.
