Description	:	Clark Parmely, 79, of Miller, S.D., died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at his home in Miller. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2 at the First Presbyterian Church in Miller witih the Revs. Brian Jones, Allen Sager and Dave Belzer officiating. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller, under the direction of Rembold Funeral Home of St. Lawrence. Clark Parmely was born April 10, 1928 in Miller, S.D., to Ferrill and Mabel (Campbell) Parmely. He grew up south of Miller and attended Highland grade school and graduated from Miller High School. He taught school and farmed with his dad for three years. Clark married Ruby Knigge in 1950. They moved to Southeast Hand County where they spent the next 45 years farming, milking cows, ranching, construction, shearing sheep, custom hay grinding, other custom farming, and raising their family. He was an active member of Rose Hill Presbyterian Church, served as a County Commissioner in Hand County, and served on the Rosehill Township board. He was a Third Degree Master Mason, and an active Shriner in the Westerners unit. He was a pilot and flew his plane to check cattle or just for fun. Clark spent his last several years with his wife Ruby traveling around to watch his numerous grandchildren take part in activities such as the rodeos, wrestling, music concerts, and shooting sports. Clark enjoyed watching his grandchildren and took advantage of every opportunity to go watch them compete. He loved farming and pulling his horses and ponies. He competed with his horses and ponies all over the midwest and Canada. Clark enjoyed his family gatherings and playing cards with all his children and grandchildren. Grateful for having shared his life include his wife, Ruby Parmely of Miller; his sons and daughter, Ronny (Jan) Parmely of Brookings, Lonny (Jeanny) Parmely of New Underwood, Kevin (JoLynne) Parmely of Huron, Trudy (Terry) Stevens of Miller, Scotty (Katie) Parmely of St. Lawrence; 16 grandchildren, Chad (Stacy) Parmely, DeShawn (Jeremy) Scott, Amber (Matthew) Misar, Kaeloni Parmely, Kolby Parmely, Billie Jo Parmely, Dawnita Parmely, Rusty Parmely, Jeremy (Marci) Stevens, TJ Stevens, Shane (Tracy) Stevens, Cody Stevens, Travis Stevens, Macaela Parmely, Jesse Parmely, Callan Parmely; six great-grandchildren, Ashton Scott, Lorena and Everett Misar, Slade Parmely, Josi and Layni Stevens; brothers and sisters, Mildred (Lowell) Engel of Black Hawk, Marles (Roger) Dean of Miller, Margaret Starks of Miller, James (Genevieve) Parmely of Miller, Beth (Jack) Engel of Bryan, Texas, and Lenarda (Gene) Swaney of St. Lawrence; and a sister-in-law, Ellen Parmely of Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Wydell; two brothers, Wayne Parmely and Otis Parmely; and one sister, Viola Ford.
