Morton, beloved dad, grandpa and great- grandpa, went home to his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 11, 2007, in Coeur d'Alene. Wilbur was born June 14, 1928, to Alvin and Laurine (Keeler) Morton in Pomeroy, Wash. On Dec. 2, 1946, he married his high school sweetheart, Patsey E. Knowles. They were married for 43 years and had a son, Danny, and a daughter, Kathleen. Patsey preceded him home to Jesus in 1990. Wilbur was always very devoted to his family, and his family always looked to him for his wisdom and advice. Wilbur enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time on his boat on Lake Coeur d'Alene. He also liked to country and western dance. Wilbur was self-employed for most of his life. He started as a young man with his own logging company and then established and operated WilMorCo in Lewiston, from 1965 to 1985. He then moved the business to North Idaho and was currently the CEO of WilCo-SuperCut Bandsaw Co., Inc. in Rathdrum. Wilbur was a member of the Eagles and a lifetime member of the NRA. He is survived by his son, Danny D. Morton; daughter Kathleen M. Morris; sonin- law David J. Morris; his grandchildren, Gregory D. Morton, Kelley J. Hendricks, and Neil D. Morris, and his nine great-grandchildren. A public viewing will be held from 4-7 p.m. today at the Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 15, 2007, at the Rathdrum Bible Church, 15127 N. Stevens St., Rathdrum. There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Friday, March 16, at the Chelan Fraternal Cemetery in Chelan, Wash. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society P.O. Box 5386, Boise, ID 83705.
