Description	:	Danny Morton was born in Chelan, WA, in December, 1949. He has wonderful childhood memories including hunting (bagged his first deer at 9 years of age), being around horses, and dancing with his sister on roller skates! Because Danny was part of a logger's family they moved often around the Pacific Northwest, but eventually settled in Lewiston, ID, where he completed High School and college. He has wonderful childhood memories including hunting (bagged his first deer at 9 years of age), being around horses, and dancing with his sister on roller skates! Because Danny was part of a logger's family they moved often around the Pacific Northwest, but eventually settled in Lewiston, ID, where he completed High School and college. His favorite sport was track, and Danny claimed to be a fast runner. As a career, Danny chose education and was the 4th grade teacher; he also coached football and basketball until his injury. The greatest joy of Danny's life was being a dad to his son Greg, born in 1972, and to his daughter Kelley, born in 1974. Danny loved to take his family camping and hunting with his brother-in-law, David. In July 1980, when he was 30 years old, Danny took a summer job at a local lumber mill to supplement his income. After being there two weeks, he was in an accident at the mill and suffered a traumatic head injury. He spent a year in a hospital in Spokane, Wash., then a year at a rehabilitation facility for head injuries in California. There, with great determination, he learned to walk again. He always said, "I did it for my kids." From that time on, Danny was disabled and unable to work, but he continued to have a positive influence in people's lives. He was still the kind, gentle, loving person he had always been. He was a "people person," always ready with a quick smile and a kind word. Even with all his disabilities, he didn't complain, but was always concerned with how other people were feeling. In 1986 he moved to Post Falls. Danny's joy was multiplied with the birth of his grandchildren. Whenever he met someone, it was not long before they knew that he was a grandpa and had six grandchildren. He was a member of the Lake City Striders, where he logged many miles at the mall, and a member of Peak Athletic Club. He formed many special friendships at these two places and was an inspiration to all. Danny spent many years as a volunteer at Ivy Court skilled nursing facility, where he was a special friend to many of the residents. Danny enjoyed doing ceramics and was always excited to give his latest creation to his family or friends. Danny came to know the Lord Jesus as Savior at a young age, and spoke often of the many blessings in his life. Danny was greatly loved by his family and friends, and we will miss his special loving, considerate influence in our lives. Danny's family would like to thank the loving caregivers who have helped us over the years, and the doctors and nurses of KMC for their compassionate, loving care of Danny during his final days. We will miss Danny at RBC, and praise God for bringing him here to worship with us.
