ALVIN MEYER, 69, DIES; SERVICES SUNDAY Wife of Alvin Meyer, Mrs. Minnie M. Meyer, 69, died suddenly at 7:20 a.m. Thursday at her home on Ossian Route 2 after suffering a heart attack. Born June 7, 1913 in Wells County, she was a daughter of Karl and Anna Werling Nahrwold. Her marriage to Mr. Meyer, who survives, took place Oct. 9, 1932 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, near Ossian. Mrs. Meyer, a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and it’s Ladies Aid Society, had returned Easter from Florida, where she and her husband had spent the past 22 winters. In addition to the husband, she is survived by two sons, Wilbur Meyer of Ossian Route 4 and Kenneth Meyer of Waterloo; two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Doris Ann) Graft of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Paul (Sandra Kay) Lydy of Kendallville, and 16 grandchildren. Four sisters, Mrs. Linda Grewe of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Helen Franz, Mrs. Clara Scherrer and Mrs. Paula Franz, all of Decatur, and two brothers, William Nahrwold and Carl Nahrwold, both of Ossian Route 2, also survive. Calling is from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Elzey-Dickey-Haggard Funeral Home at Ossian. Services will be at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Rev. John Eckard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
