Wilhelmina married George Lubbers on Mar. 14, 1883 in Lennox, SD. Elizabeth, Ida, Bertha, Sena, Hannah, Rena, Amanda and George E. were born to this union. Wilhelmina attained the age of 84 years, 3 months and 21 days. The following is from the Lennox Diamond Jubilee Book. Mr. and Mrs. George Lubbers for several years resided on the farm on which the former filed his homestead claim. Mr. Lubbers passed away in 1922, at the age of 70 years. Mr. Lubbers was born February 11, 1852, at Erhove, Germany. At the age of 16 he came to America and stayed four years in the vicinity of Freeport, IL. In 1872 his parents immigrated to this country from their native Germany, and together the family moved west, into Iowa—in following years residing in Butler and Grundy counties. After six years, in the year of 1878, Mr. Lubbers came to Dakota Territory and filed on a homestead in Lincoln County— four miles south of Lennox. In 1883, he was united in marriage to Miss Wilhelmina Miller, and they resumed their duties on the homestead previously mentioned. They continued with their rural enterprising for a number of years and in 1913 the family retired from the farm and took up their residence in Lennox. Mrs. Lubbers was born in Baileyville, IL. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Juren Miller, immigrated to Grundy County, IA., in 1868, and in 1881, continued to Dakota Territory and six miles southwest of Lennox established their home. Their children included: Mrs. Henry Miller, Mrs. Henry Sinning, Mrs. John Sinning, Mrs. Harm VanBockern, Mrs. George Legel, George Lubbers and Mrs. Tony Miller, of the Lennox vicinity, and Sena Lubbers, who resides with her mother. The following is from the Sioux Valley News; Mrs. George Lubbers, one of the early pioneers of this locality, passed away at her home in Lennox. She had been in failing health for several months, and became critically ill about two weeks ago. Wilhelmina Miller was born in Baileyville, Il., on Dec. 17, 1863, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Juren Miller. The family emigrated to Grundy county, IA., in 1868, and in 1881 continued to Dakota territory, establishing their home six miles southwest of Lennox. In 1883, she was united in marriage to George Lubbers, and resided on their farm four miles south of Lennox until 1913 when the family moved to Lennox. Mr. Lubbers passed away in 1922. Two children preceded Mrs. Lubbers in death, one son, George Lubbers and one daughter, Mrs. John Sinning. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Henry Miller, Mrs. Henry Sinning, Mrs. Harm VanBockern, Mrs. George Legel, Mrs. Tony Miller and Sena Lubbers.
