Serving in an honorary capacity were Dietrich Koch, Robert Irwin, Carl Winsell, Maurice Nelson, Walter Johnson, Floyd McKinney, Gerald Sieman and F.K. Hackett. A life time resident of Hand County, Mr. Yost was born in Ohio Township September 19, 1899. June 18, 1925 he was married to Ruth Arbogast in Miller. They resided on a farm in Mondamin township until moving to Pleasant Valley, where he farmed, although semi-retired for several years. While in Mondamin, he served for many years as a member of the school board. He was widely known in the area as a shoop (sic? sheep) shearer, which, in addition to farming, was his occupation from the time he was 16 years old. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Maurice Anderson (Cleone), West Point, Nebr., and Mrs. Larry Danburg (Delores), Miller; four sons, Keith, Eldridge, Iowa, Gene, Omaha, Neil, Miller and Jerry, Hartford, Conn., 15 grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. G.W.
