Bill was born 6 September 1947, Oxon Hill, Maryland, and after serving in the Air Force in 1970, became a chemical engineer. He moved to Ridgecrest, CA in 1979 and retired from Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in 2011. Durvin, 67, passed away 7 June 2015, after a long battle with cancer at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital TCRV. Bill was born 6 September 1947, Oxon Hill, Maryland, and after serving in the Air Force in 1970, became a chemical engineer. He moved to Ridgecrest, CA in 1979 and retired from Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in 2011. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in business administration at Cal State Bakersfield. Bill was involved in the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Rotary Club of Indian Wells Valley (Inyokern), Four Winds secretary, the Cherokee Community of Central California, was co-owner of Little Deer's Family Child Care, a patron life member of the NRA, and a member of the Sierra Desert Gun Club, among many other activities. As described by his family and close friends and all those that knew him, Bill was a man of integrity who had a great heart and quick wit. Bill truly loved his wife, his family and his life, and all those that entered it. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Bill is survived by his wife, Little Deer, of 27 years, son Marcus and daughter-in-law Jakki Durvin of Oklahoma, son Max of Ridgecrest, and daughter Lisa of Las Vegas, as well as four grandchildren: Destiny Durvin, Della Durvin, Heidi Durvin and Rick Durvin of Oklahoma.
