Mr. Hedger at one time resided in Adams County, moing to Dakota in 1910. William Alfred Hedges was born August 14, 1882 at Hampshire, Kane County, Illinois and departed from this world February 1, 1937 at the age of 54 years, 5 months, and 17 days. Mr. Hedger at one time resided in Adams County, moing to Dakota in 1910. William Alfred Hedges was born August 14, 1882 at Hampshire, Kane County, Illinois and departed from this world February 1, 1937 at the age of 54 years, 5 months, and 17 days. His early manhood was spent in central and southern Iowa. He was united in marriage with Jessie Mae Cormack, April 17, 1904 at Carbon, Iowa. Four children were born to this union, Mrs. Clayton Leach, Dikerson, North Dakota, William Arthur of Halliday, Richard Allan of Portland, Oregon, and one infant son who preceded him in death. He came to North Dakota in 1910 and homesteaded seen miles northeast of Halliday. Then in 1922 he moved his family to Halliday, where he lived the remaining years of his life.
