Description	:	Mr. William Allen Kallam, age 90, of Kallam Road, Mount Airy (White Plains Community), widower of Mrs. Lillian Simpson Kallam, passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Village Care in King. Mr. Kallam was born in Surry County on Jan. 11, 1913 to the late Lemuel (Bud) Kallam and Annie Draughon Kallam. Mr. Kallam was a well respected farmer of tobacco and strawberries, a member of the White Plains Friends Meeting and retired from the White Plains Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Kallam was born in Surry County on Jan. 11, 1913 to the late Lemuel (Bud) Kallam and Annie Draughon Kallam. Mr. Kallam was a well respected farmer of tobacco and strawberries, a member of the White Plains Friends Meeting and retired from the White Plains Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law: Lou Nell and Wayne Hardy of Mount Airy, Wanda and Bill Benbow of Tobaccoville, Judy and Tim Gray of Concord; three sons and daughters-in-law: Steve and Norma Kallam of Mount Airy, Kenneth Kallam of Mount Airy, Larry and Sharon Kallam of Elkin, and Virginia Kallam, also of Mount Airy; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Kallam was preceded in death by two sons: Randall Kallam and Wallace Kallam. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at White Plains Friends Meeting Church with the service conducted by Rev. Wayne Johnson, Larry Kallam, and Martha Massey. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends at the Moody Funeral Home on Sunday night from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to White Plains Friends Meeting Church at P.O.
