He was a retired farmer and blacksmith. He was in the Coast Guard from 1951-1954. He was a member of the American Legion and the Commander in 1978. Offices he held were District 39, Platte County, Past Board Member. He was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and two nieces.
