Description	:	Death of Mr. William Bivens. Mr. William Bivens, one of the oldest citizens of the county, died at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. John H. Williams, six miles west of town, at seven o'clock Sunday evening. He had gone from his own home a week before to spend a short time with his daughter and was in his usual health but soon got sick and unable to go back home. Read More	Death of Mr. William Bivens. Mr. William Bivens, one of the oldest citizens of the county, died at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. John H. Williams, six miles west of town, at seven o'clock Sunday evening. He had gone from his own home a week before to spend a short time with his daughter and was in his usual health but soon got sick and unable to go back home. He was a little over eighty-four years of age. The remains were buried at the Williams graveyard yesterday. Rev. A. Marsh and Rev. J. L. Bennett conducted the services. The deceased was the son of Nathaniel Bivens, and was one of fifteen children, and his brother, Rev. J. A. Bivens, is the last living one of the fifteen. Mr. Bivens' wife died six years ago, and seven sons and daughters survive them. They are N. W. Bivens, H. F. Bivens and W. D. Bivens of this county, E. J. Bivens of Arkansas and Dr. Raymond Bivens of McColl; Mrs. W. A. Hamilton and Mrs. John H. Williams. The deceased was a faithful member of Meadow Branch church for many years. He was a quiet man who made a good living from his farming operations and enjoyed life. He was a faithful Confederate soldier and received a wound from which he suffered to the end of his life.
